WBC Team Leader

WBC Team Leader is an official judge of the World Beauty Championship (WBC) who is given the additional opportunity to build and develop their own team of championship participants.

A Team Leader brings specialists together around their professional activity, invites them to take part in WBC, helps them complete registration and prepare for the championship, and manages their team through a personal account.

In this way, a Team Leader combines two professional roles within WBC:

01Judge

Takes part in judging the championship in accordance with WBC rules and standards.

02Team Leader

Builds, supports and develops their own team of WBC participants.

Who can become a Team Leader?

Team Leader status is intended for WBC judges who want not only to judge an international championship, but also to create their own professional community of participants.

A Team Leader can build a team:

  • from the artists of their studio;
  • from their students;
  • from the specialists of their academy;
  • from colleagues and the professional community;
  • from participants from different cities;
  • from specialists from different countries;
  • from artists in various beauty fields.

What does a Team Leader do?

The main task of a Team Leader is to create, develop and support their own team of WBC participants.

A Team Leader can:

  • invite new participants to their team;
  • give them a personal promo code;
  • register participants through the personal account;
  • create personal payment links;
  • pay for their participants' entry if necessary;
  • help participants upload their competition works;
  • monitor participants' status and activity;
  • track their team's results;
  • develop and promote their own team;
  • take part in the system of team rankings and awards.

At the same time, the Team Leader remains a WBC judge

  • Team Leader status does not replace or change judge status.
  • As a judge, the Team Leader takes part in judging in accordance with the established WBC rules.
  • As a Team Leader, they are concerned exclusively with building, organising and developing their team of participants.

At the same time, the principle of judging independence must be observed:

A Team Leader does not make decisions on the competition works of participants of their own team if such works fall within their area of judging responsibility, in accordance with WBC rules.

The core idea of Team Leader

A WBC Team Leader is a WBC judge who has the opportunity to create their own international team of participants, support it throughout the championship, develop a professional community and gain additional opportunities and recognition within WBC.

Why become a WBC Team Leader?

WBC Team Leader status is an opportunity for a WBC judge to move to a new level of professional development:

  • create your own international team,
  • strengthen your personal brand,
  • gain more media visibility and use this status to develop your own business.

01Higher professional status

You become not only a judge of an international championship, but also an official WBC Team Leader — a person who unites and develops their own professional team.

02More media visibility and recognition

Involvement in developing the team, its results and its representation within WBC provide additional opportunities for public exposure.

This helps to raise the recognition of your name and attract new clients, students and professional contacts.

03Personal brand development

Team Leader status can be used on social media, in your professional portfolio, on your website, in advertising materials and presentations.

You position yourself not only as a specialist and judge, but also as a leader of a professional community.

04The opportunity to create your own training programmes

A Team Leader can develop their own educational areas, including:

  • preparing specialists for championships;
  • individual mentoring;
  • training sessions;
  • reviews of competition works;
  • professional consultations;
  • master classes;
  • group preparation programmes.

05Developing your own academy or studio

You can develop your team as a professional community around your own studio, academy or educational project.

The team becomes part of your professional ecosystem and helps to showcase the results of your students and specialists.

06Using the team to promote your own brand

Participants' results, international achievements, team projects and joint activities create additional professional content.

This can be used to promote your own name, studio, academy, training or other commercial projects.

07New commercial opportunities

A strong professional profile and your own international team can open up opportunities for collaboration with beauty brands:

  • ambassador projects;
  • advertising integrations;
  • brand events;
  • educational projects;
  • product presentations;
  • professional partnerships.

08The opportunity to monetise your professional status

WBC does not pay Team Leaders a direct reward for the participants they bring in.

Instead, a Team Leader receives:

  • status
  • media visibility
  • an international network
  • a platform for developing their own business.

In this way, the status can be turned into real commercial opportunities:

  • attract clients and students
  • sell training and mentoring
  • run preparation for championships
  • develop an academy or studio
  • promote your own brand and collaborate with companies.

WBC Team Leader is an opportunity not just to take part in the championship, but to create your own international team around your professional name and use it to grow your recognition, expertise and business.

What does a participant gain by joining a team?

Taking part as a member of a WBC team gives a specialist additional opportunities and support compared to individual participation.

The participant becomes part of a professional community and has the opportunity to go through the championship together with their team and Team Leader.

01A special participation discount

A team participant can use their Team Leader's personal promo code and receive the discount provided by WBC for participation in the championship.

02Additional support from the Team Leader

The participant is not left alone with their preparation for the championship.

The Team Leader can help to:

  • complete registration;
  • understand the nominations and requirements;
  • arrange payment;
  • create a personal payment link;
  • help with uploading the competition work;
  • send reminders about important deadlines;
  • answer organisational questions;
  • share professional experience and recommendations.

At the same time, the Team Leader does not replace the WBC Organizers.

The participant can contact the WBC Organizers directly at any time regarding registration, rules, payment, uploading works, deadlines and other official matters.

In this way, the participant receives two levels of support:

  • WBC Organizers — official information, rules and organisational matters.
  • Team Leader — additional guidance, help and support within the team.

03Belonging to an international team

The participant becomes part of a professional team that can bring together specialists from different cities and countries.

This is an opportunity to expand your professional network, meet other artists and grow within the international beauty community.

04The opportunity to represent your team

The participant competes not only individually, but also as a representative of their team.

Participants' results make up the overall team result, so a participant's personal achievements become part of the achievements of the whole team.

05Additional professional promotion

Membership in the team and its achievements can be used for the participant's professional promotion.

Team results, publications and achievements can become additional content for social media, a professional portfolio and a personal brand.

06The opportunity to receive additional preparation

If the Team Leader runs their own educational programmes, the participant may gain access to additional preparation opportunities:

  • training sessions;
  • reviews of competition works;
  • consultations;
  • preparation for the championship;
  • individual mentoring;
  • master classes.

The terms of such preparation are set directly by the Team Leader.

07Team recognition

If the team receives special recognition or a WBC team award, its participants also receive electronic confirmation of the team achievement.

The physical team trophy is presented to the Team Leader as the team's representative.

08Additional motivation and professional development

Being part of a team makes it possible to grow together with other specialists, see their results, exchange experience and gain additional motivation to take part in international championships.

The main advantage

An individual participant goes through the championship on their own.

A team participant receives all the same official WBC support, but in addition receives the support of the Team Leader, a professional network, the opportunity to share in team achievements and to use team membership for their professional development.

Membership in a team does not restrict the participant's rights and does not replace direct communication with WBC. It is an additional opportunity to receive more support and professional opportunities while taking part in the championship.

How to become a WBC Team Leader?

You can become a WBC Team Leader once your application to the judging panel of the current championship season has been approved.

01Apply to the WBC judging panel

For each new WBC season, you must submit a new application to take part in judging.

The application is submitted directly on the page of the relevant championship season on the official WBC website.

After your application has been reviewed and approved, you gain the opportunity to become a Team Leader for that season.

02Register in the Team Leader system

After your judging application has been approved, you complete registration in the Team Leader system.

Registration in the system is done only once.

If you are already registered as a Team Leader, you do not need to create a new account for each new season.

03Confirm your participation as a Team Leader

Once you have been approved for the judging panel of the current season, you can confirm your wish to take part in the season as a Team Leader as well.

In other words, Team Leader status is established separately for each season.

04Get access to your personal account

After registration, you get access to your personal Team Leader account, where you can:

  • manage your team;
  • invite participants;
  • use your personal link;
  • share your professional promo code;
  • track participants' registrations;
  • monitor your team's status;
  • help participants with payment and uploading works;
  • track team results.

05Start building your team

Once your Team Leader status is activated, you can invite participants to your team using your personal promo code and/or personal link.

From this moment, building your team for the current WBC season begins.

How does it work in subsequent seasons?

If you are already registered in the Team Leader system, you do not need to register in the system again.

To take part in a new season, you need to:

01Submit a new application to the judging panel of the new season.

02Wait for approval of the application.

03Confirm your wish to be a Team Leader in the new season.

04Open the new season in your personal account.

05Start building a new team.

In this way, one Team Leader account is used for different WBC seasons, and each new season is connected separately in your personal account.

Please note: approval as a judge in one season does not mean automatic appointment as a Team Leader in the following season.

For each new season, you must apply to the judging panel again and confirm your intention to take part as a Team Leader.

WBC Team Leader personal account

The WBC Team Leader personal account is the main tool for building, managing and developing a team within the current season of the World Beauty Championship.

The Team Leader account brings together the main functions needed to work with participants and monitor team results.

Team management

A Team Leader can independently add and register participants in their team, shape its line-up and monitor all participants in a single account.

In the account you can:

  • see the list of your team's participants;
  • add new participants;
  • monitor the team line-up;
  • track the number of participants;
  • see the status of each participant

Monitoring participants' registrations

A Team Leader can track the registration process of each participant:

  • whether the participant is registered;
  • whether their registration is complete;
  • whether payment has been made;
  • what stage their participation is at.

This allows the Team Leader to monitor the team's preparation and to help participants in good time if questions arise.

Adding a participant who has already registered independently

If a participant has already applied to the championship independently but then decided to join your team, there is no need to register them again.

A Team Leader can send this participant a request to join the team directly through the personal account.

After the request is sent:

  1. the participant receives a notification at their e-mail;
  2. in the e-mail they receive a request to join the team;
  3. the participant confirms joining;
  4. after confirmation, they become an official participant of your team.

In this way, a participant can first register independently and then join the Team Leader's team without re-registering for the championship.

Working with payments

The Team Leader personal account provides tools to help participants with payment.

A Team Leader can:

  • create personal payment links;
  • send them to participants;
  • monitor payment status;
  • pay for a participant's entry themselves if necessary.

Help with competition works

A Team Leader can support participants in preparing for the championship and help monitor the process of uploading competition works.

This allows the Team Leader to see who has already prepared and uploaded their work and who still needs help

Monitoring team results

After judging has taken place, a Team Leader can track the results of their team's participants and see their achievements.

This makes it possible to understand how the team is performing as a whole and what results its participants are achieving.

Overall WBC team ranking

The overall ranking of WBC teams is available in the Team Leader personal account.

A Team Leader can see their team's position among other teams and track the dynamics of the team result throughout the season.

The results of the team's participants make up its overall result in accordance with the WBC team ranking rules.

Promoting and developing the team

Through the personal account, a Team Leader receives tools for attracting new participants and developing their team:

  • a personal promo code;
  • a personal link;
  • the ability to invite new participants;
  • the ability to track participants joining the team.

A Team Leader can use these tools to promote their team on social media, among students, colleagues and the professional community.

Working with several seasons

One Team Leader account is used to work with different WBC seasons.

There is no need to register in the Team Leader system again for each season.

After submitting a new application to the judging panel and confirming participation as a Team Leader for the new season, the corresponding season becomes available in the personal account.

In this way, within one account a Team Leader can work with different WBC seasons in succession and build a separate team for each season.

The WBC Team Leader personal account is a single system in which you can:

  1. build a team
  2. add and register participants
  3. invite already registered participants
  4. monitor registrations and payments
  5. help with competition works
  6. track results
  7. promote the team
  8. see the overall WBC team ranking.

How to build a team properly?

A WBC team is a professional international community of participants that the Team Leader builds independently.

Who can be a member of your team?

01Any specialist in the beauty industry

A team member can be any specialist in the beauty industry who is taking part in the current WBC season.

It does not matter what field the specialist works in or in what category the Team Leader judges.

For example, if you are a judge in the Lash field, you can invite to your team not only lash artists, but any beauty specialists who are taking part in the current WBC season.

A participant can take part:

  • in any nomination;
  • in one or several nominations;
  • in any number of nominations in accordance with the rules of the current season.

02Participants from different countries

Your team can be international.

You can invite participants from different countries, cities and regions, regardless of where you live or work.

This allows you to gradually create your own international professional community.

03Participants do not have to be your employees

Members of your team can be:

  • your students;
  • colleagues;
  • graduates;
  • professional acquaintances;
  • specialists from your professional network;
  • artists who work in their own studios;
  • specialists you have not worked with before.

Participants are not required to be employees of your studio, academy or salon.

You also do not need to have your own studio or academy to create a team.

How is a team built?

Through the personal account, a Team Leader receives tools for attracting new participants and developing their team:

  • a personal promo code;
  • a personal link;
  • the ability to invite new participants;
  • the ability to track participants joining the team.

A Team Leader can use these tools to promote their team on social media, among students, colleagues and the professional community.

Team Leader promo code

Each Team Leader receives a personal promo code that allows invited participants to receive a special discount on participation in the current WBC season.

What discount does a participant receive?

The standard discount for team participants is 20%.

If the Team Leader is accredited by the International Beauty Industry Association (IBIA) at Trainer or Judge level, or their academy holds valid IBIA accreditation, the participants of their team receive an increased discount of 30%.

Thus:

  • regular Team Leader → 20% discount for team participants;
  • IBIA Trainer → 30% discount;
  • IBIA Judge → 30% discount;
  • accredited IBIA Academy → 30% discount for team participants.

How to use the promo code?

A Team Leader can give their personal promo code to a participant. The participant can:

  • Option 1. Register independently. The participant goes to the WBC website, completes their entry and enters the Team Leader's promo code.
  • Option 2. Register through the Team Leader. The Team Leader can register the participant themselves through their personal account, using their promo code.

Where is the promo code entered?

The promo code can be used:

  • during initial registration on the WBC website;
  • in the participant's personal account, if the participant is already registered and wants to add further nominations.

How does the system identify the Team Leader?

  • It is the personal promo code that links the participant to the corresponding Team Leader.
  • When a participant registers using a Team Leader's promo code, the system determines which team they belong to.

Can several promo codes be used?

No!

Several promo codes cannot be used at the same time for one entry.

A participant can be linked to one Team Leader for a given season.

If the participant has already registered independently

  • If a participant has already registered for WBC without using a Team Leader's promo code and later decided to join your team, they do not need to register again.
  • The Team Leader can send them a request to join the team through the personal account. The participant receives the request by e-mail and confirms joining.
  • However, the Team Leader discount is not applied retroactively to an already completed registration or an already paid nomination.
  • If, after joining the team, the participant wishes to add a new nomination, they will be able to use the Team Leader's promo code when booking this new nomination and receive the applicable discount.

Important: the promo code applies only to new nominations booked using it. The cost of previously registered and paid nominations is not recalculated.

WBC team ranking

The WBC team ranking shows how the teams of Team Leaders perform within a specific championship season.

It is an overall ranking of teams that is formed on the basis of the results of the participants in each team. In this way, participants' personal achievements affect the overall result of their team.

What do you see in the ranking?

In the WBC Team Leader personal account you can:

  • see your team and its current position in the ranking;
  • see other WBC teams and their positions;
  • track changes in your team's position throughout the season;
  • see the overall dynamics of the team result;
  • find out your team's final position after the season ends.

How is the ranking formed?

The ranking is formed on the basis of the official results of the team's participants in the current WBC season.

Each participant competes individually in the chosen nomination or nominations, and their results are taken into account when the overall team result is formed.

Thus:

Participant → receives an individual result → the result is counted in the team ranking → the overall team result is formed.

Important!

The team ranking always relates to a specific WBC season.

Each new season begins with the formation of a new team ranking.

Results from the previous season are not carried over to the new season.

During the season, the ranking may change as new participant results come in.

The final team result is fixed after the season has fully ended and the official WBC results have been finalised.

It is the final result of the season that determines the final position of the teams, after which the WBC team award rules are applied.

WBC team awards

At the end of each WBC season, winning teams are determined in separate categories.

Each award has its own criterion, so teams are assessed on different indicators.

01Top Performance Team

The highest competition results.

The award is given to the team whose participants achieved the highest competition results in the season.

To determine the winner, the share of team participants who took prize-winning places out of the total number of team participants is taken into account.

Formula: Number of the team's prize-winners ÷ total number of team participants × 100%

For example:

  • Team A: 10 participants, 7 prize-winners = 70%
  • Team B: 20 participants, 10 prize-winners = 50%

In this case, by this criterion Team A has the higher score.

In this way, the award reflects the effectiveness of the team's competitive performance rather than its size.

02Most International Team

The most international team.

The award is given to the team that is represented by the largest number of different countries.

What counts here is specifically the number of countries from which the team's participants are registered.

For example:

  • 8 countries = one score
  • 12 countries = a broader international line-up
  • 18 countries = an even wider geography

If the number of countries is equal, the number of participants from these countries may serve as an additional criterion.

03Most Represented Team

The largest team.

The award is given to the Team Leader who has built the largest team of the season.

What is used here is not a percentage, but the absolute number of officially confirmed participants.

For example:

  • 5 participants
  • 14 participants
  • 27 participants

The winner is determined by the largest number of participants who officially joined the team within the relevant season.

04Most Active Team

The most active team.

Here, the simple number of participants is no longer taken into account.

The award is determined by the number of nominations in which the team's participants actually competed.

In other words, it takes into account how actively the team is represented in the championship.

For example:

  • Team A: 20 participants × an average of 1 nomination = 20 entries
  • Team B: 15 participants × an average of 3 nominations = 45 entries

In this case, Team B has the higher activity score.

The total number of officially booked nominations of the team's participants over the season can be counted.

05Receiving a team award

If a team wins one of the WBC team awards, the award is presented as follows:

  • 1 physical cup is received by the WBC Team Leader as the official representative of the team;
  • every participant of the team that received the award receives a personalised electronic diploma confirming their participation as a member of the winning team;
  • physical cups are not issued separately to team participants.

Award for building a team

WBC TEAM LEADER CUP is a personal cup for an official WBC Team Leader for building their own team of championship participants.

To receive the cup, a Team Leader must build a team of at least 5 officially registered participants within one WBC season.

The number of participants above the minimum is not limited.

How does the award work?

Once 5 or more participants have been confirmed in the team, the Team Leader becomes entitled to the WBC TEAM LEADER CUP.

The award:

  • is a personal award of the Team Leader;
  • is given once for the relevant season;
  • does not depend on the number of participants above 5;
  • does not depend on the team's place in the team ranking;
  • does not depend on the participants' competition results.

Separate from the judge award

WBC TEAM LEADER CUP is a separate award for Team Leader activity.

If a specialist simultaneously performs two roles: WBC JUDGE and WBC TEAM LEADER — they can receive awards for each area of activity separately.

Awards related to performing the duties of a WBC judge are granted in accordance with the rules of the judging programme.

What does a Team Leader receive?

A Team Leader receives:

A physical WBC TEAM LEADER CUP for building a team of 5 or more participants + an electronic diploma

The award confirms that the Team Leader has successfully built and is developing their own team of WBC participants.

The physical WBC TEAM LEADER CUP is granted to a Team Leader who has built a team of at least 5 officially registered participants within one WBC season.

If a Team Leader has not built a team of 5 registered participants, in that case the Team Leader receives only an electronic diploma.

WBC Team Leader rules

A WBC team is a professional international community of participants that the Team Leader builds independently.

01Compliance with the rules

A WBC Team Leader must comply with the official WBC regulations, the conditions of participation and the requirements of the current championship season.

02Up-to-date information

A Team Leader must provide the participants of their team with up-to-date information on:

  • registration deadlines;
  • deadlines for submitting works;
  • nominations and their requirements;
  • payment;
  • uploading competition works;
  • results;
  • WBC organisational procedures.

If conditions change, the Team Leader uses only current official WBC information.

03Team Leader's authority

A Team Leader has no right to independently:

  • change the conditions of the championship;
  • set their own requirements for participants;
  • change the participation fee;
  • change the deadlines for registration or submission of works;
  • change the rules of nominations;
  • set their own conditions for receiving awards;
  • announce official decisions on behalf of WBC.

04Participants' results

A Team Leader has no right to guarantee a participant:

  • victory;
  • a prize-winning place;
  • a particular result;
  • a particular number of points;
  • receipt of an award.

Participants' results are determined in accordance with the official WBC rules and judging system.

05Judging independence

A Team Leader has no right to influence the judging process or participants' results.

It is prohibited to:

  • put pressure on judges;
  • ask for scores to be changed;
  • demand changes to results;
  • interfere with the work of judges;
  • provide judges with information in order to influence the assessment.

A Team Leader who is also a WBC judge must comply with the rules of independent judging and does not assess the works of their own team in the cases provided for by the WBC regulations.

06Communication with participants

A Team Leader must provide reliable information and correctly inform participants about WBC rules and procedures.

If questions arise that fall outside the Team Leader's authority, the participant contacts the WBC Organizers directly.

07Team Leader promo code

A Team Leader uses only their own official personal promo code.

It is prohibited to:

  • pass the promo code on for use by other Team Leaders;
  • offer unapproved discounts;
  • change the terms of the promo code;
  • spread inaccurate information about the size of the discount.

08Professional ethics

A Team Leader must observe professional ethics and interact respectfully with participants, judges, other Team Leaders and the WBC Organizers.

The following are not permitted:

  • providing knowingly inaccurate information;
  • putting pressure on participants or judges;
  • interfering with the work of the organisers;
  • actions that violate WBC rules;
  • actions that damage the reputation of WBC.

09Violation of the rules

In the event of a violation of these rules, the WBC Organizers have the right to review the Team Leader's status, temporarily restrict access to Team Leader functions or terminate the status in accordance with WBC rules.

10The core principle

A WBC Team Leader builds and develops a team, supports participants and provides them with up-to-date information, while complying with the official WBC regulations and the independence of judging.

Important! Judging rules for Team Leaders

To ensure the most objective and impartial assessment of competition works, Team Leaders will not assess the works of participants who are members of their own team.

To rule out any possible conflict of interest and ensure equal conditions for all participants, nominations will be allocated for judging taking into account the team line-up of each Team Leader.

How will this work in practice?

  • Team Leaders will be sent other nominations for assessment in which no members of their team are taking part.
  • If the members of a Team Leader's team are represented only in a particular category of a nomination (for example, Junior, Master or Professional), access to assessment will be closed in that particular category. The other categories of the same nomination may remain available for assessment.
  • If the team's members are represented in all three categories of one nomination (Junior, Master and Professional), that nomination will not be sent to the Team Leader for assessment at all.

Our main goal is to ensure fair, independent and objective judging, in which each participant is assessed solely on the basis of the quality of their competition work and in accordance with the established criteria.
